🌿 Meet Jeannette
Hello and welcome — I’m Jeannette, the heart behind Close to Nature.
Nature has always been my greatest teacher — patient, generous, and full of quiet wisdom. Whether I’m tending the garden, watching the birds, or sitting by the pond with my dog Sadie, I’m reminded daily that peace begins in stillness and grows through connection.
This website is a reflection of that journey — a place to rediscover the beauty and balance that nature offers us every day.
Here, I share gentle insights on gardening, wildlife, Feng Shui, and natural living — small, mindful ways to create harmony between our homes, our hearts, and the earth.
Through Close-to-Nature.org, I hope to inspire you to slow down, listen, and nurture your bond with the world around you — one sunrise, one breath, and one flower at a time.
🪴 Why I Created Close to Nature
Close to Nature was born out of my love for the outdoors and my belief that every living thing — from the smallest seed to the tallest tree — plays a vital role in our well-being.
For me, gardening isn’t just about growing plants; it’s about cultivating peace, patience, and gratitude. Every time I plant a seed or watch a butterfly land on a flower, I’m reminded that nature rewards gentle care and quiet observation.
Whether you live in the countryside or a city apartment, you can bring a touch of nature into your life. Even the smallest garden, potted plant, or mindful walk can help you reconnect to the earth and yourself.

🦋 My Connection with Animals
Animals have always been a big part of my life. I see them as companions, guides, and messengers of calm. My dog Sadie often joins me in the garden, reminding me to pause, play, and simply be. Through watching her, I’ve learned that peace isn’t something to chase — it’s something we allow.
🌍 My Other Websites
Close to Nature is part of a family of projects I’ve created to share kindness, mindfulness, and inspiration in different forms:
🌱 Living the Vegan Lifestyle
LivingTheVeganLifestyle.org is where my plant-based journey blossomed into a lifestyle rooted in compassion. What began as a search for healing soon became a practice of mindful, joyful eating — one that honours animals, the planet, and our own well-being.
I share simple, colourful recipes, gentle nutrition insights, and everyday tips for cruelty-free living that make veganism feel welcoming and abundant.
Beyond food, this site is about connection: to our bodies, our values, and each other. Whether you’re vegan, vegan-curious, or simply looking to add more plants to your plate, I hope you’ll find warmth, ease, and inspiration in every post — a reminder that small, loving choices add up to a kinder world.
🐾 Paw Reiki
PawReiki.com is my heart space for the human–animal bond. Here I share a gentle, consent-led approach to Reiki for pets — creating calm environments, noticing subtle signals, and supporting emotional balance with presence and care.
Sessions can be hands-on or hands-off, always at the animal’s pace, and always respectful of their comfort and choice.
Inspired by my dog Sadie (my best teacher in patience and love), Paw Reiki offers practical tips for guardians, reflections on trust and safety, and holistic ideas to discuss with your veterinarian.
I hope to help you deepen your connection with your animal companion and bring more peace to your shared daily rhythm.
🌍 Work From Anywhere in the World
WorkFromAnywhereInTheWorld.com is my home for an ethical, purpose-led online business. After nearly five decades in the corporate world, I built a flexible digital life centred on writing, teaching, and helping others grow income streams that match their values — from blogging and affiliate marketing to freelancing and remote work.
On this site, I share step-by-step guides, honest reviews, and practical paths to building freedom without the hype. If you’re ready to create work that fits your life — not the other way around — you’ll find warm guidance, fundamental tools, and encouraging momentum, one mindful step at a time.
Each of these projects is a branch of the same tree — rooted in compassion, curiosity, and connection to the natural world.
Whether I’m writing about mindful gardening, vegan cooking, holistic pet care, or digital entrepreneurship, my purpose remains the same: to inspire others to live gently, create meaningfully, and appreciate the beauty that surrounds us every day.
🌼 My Philosophy
I believe that living close to nature isn’t about where you live — it’s about how you live.
It’s about slowing down, paying attention, and realizing that beauty is always around us, waiting to be noticed.
From the sound of rain to the scent of blooming herbs, every moment outdoors is an invitation to return to balance.
My mission is to help others rediscover the healing power of simplicity — to create homes, gardens, and lives that feel peaceful and alive.
🌿 Let’s Grow Together
If you feel drawn to reconnect with nature, I invite you to explore, learn, and grow with me. Each post on Close to Nature is written with love and care — a gentle reminder that nurturing the earth is also a way of nurturing ourselves.
With gratitude and green thumbs,
Jeannette Z 🌿
